Want to know a secret?
I spent years secretly hating writing. For a long time, it felt more like a “should” than a “get to do.” Then like many of you, I became a mom. I suddenly had way less time and energy, but I felt more inspired. Funny how that works!
I knew the only way to keep going was to find a way to enjoy the writing process. That’s exactly what I figured out how to do.
Along the way, I grew as a writer, and I learned how to bring a more creative spirit to my work. So now, not only am I writing more, I’m writing more original, interesting books. The practices in Before You Begin have brought me comfort when I’ve felt stuck or unsure, and I truly hope they will do the same for you, so you can:
Get excited to write
Feel clear and confident about your next project
Understand your creative strengths and weaknesses more deeply
Develop touchstones you can turn to throughout the writing process
Create something you’re proud of
PS
If you want to talk through the journal prompts with a friend, I’m offering 50% off an hour of creative coaching when bundle it with the Before You Begin workbook. (Only until 1/31/25.)
Nebula Notebook is a place to meet kindred spirits, get inspired, and learn how to find ease and joy in the creative process—even when life is bananas. 🍌🍌🍌
✏️ PS—The fastest way to grow as a writer is to book a manuscript critique or a creative coaching session with an expert. My clients get agents, sell books, and win awards. They also learn how to enjoy the creative process, so they can keep going when life gets hard. 👏
