Quickening: Curating a Collection
Each month I’m sharing an excerpt from Quickening: The Art of Being a Creative Mother. Inside you’ll find prompts, personal essays, and poems that are designed to help you reconnect with your creative spark. One reader called it “The Artist’s Way for mothers” and I think that’s pretty spot on. All the exercises are super doable, even when life is bananas. The exercise below is from the chapter on quickening your hunger.
Curate a Collection
Choose a theme (maybe it’s color, texture, or something more personal) and pull together items from around the house to create a mini collection. Pasta, pretty washi tape, a postcard, a favorite piece of jewelry, whatever fits. Arrange them in whatever way pleases you. Trust yourself to make something interesting with the most ordinary of materials.
If you’re inspired by this idea, this book is meant for you. 💛
