When I became a mom, I thought I might have to put my dream of being a writer on hold. And I’ve definitely given it some serious thought. But seven years later, I’ve become an expert at working on my books in tiny pockets of time. I’ve written dozens of books this way.
I want you to keep writing too.
I know I can help.
When I wanted to write after my son was born, I started giving myself mini assignments that would help me figure out what my book was about. I made them simple and fun, so I would keep going. I built momentum. I started making real progress. That boosted my confidence. I was excited to have something to work on that was all mine, and I was proud of what I created.
You can totally do this too.
Inside Start Small, I’ll show you:
How to turn your idea into a book
How to make progress in 10 minutes a day
What to do if you get stuck
I designed Start Small to be super practical and easy to do while our kids are home with this summer. It will NOT overwhelm you. These are the kinds of things my clients say after working with me…
You’ll make book magic too!
I am ready to help you write your book this summer.
I am ready to support you.
I am ready for YOU.
This is the last day to sign up for Start Small.
I’m not sure if I’ll offer it again, so I hope you’ll join us now.
A Heartfelt Thank You
This summer I’ll be deep in it with you, caring for my little family, making book magic, and thinking about all the invisible work I know you’re doing too. You can always say hi by sending me an old fashioned email! I would love to hear what you’re up to and how you’re making space for creativity in the the summer chaos.
I’ll be back in September with more Mothers Who Make interviews and essays about children’s books, creativity, and motherhood. I want Nebula Notebook to be the newsletter you love to open. I know you have a million people in your in box, and I’m truly honored be a part of your creative life. I love hosting this warm community, and I hope this is a place you can turn to when you feel alone or just want a little bit of fresh inspiration. If there’s anything else you want to see here, just hit reply and let me know. What I’m really trying to say is THANK YOU for being here. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I’m cheering you on!
Now on to some juicy links…

If you enjoyed this post, please 💛 it so others can find it or share it with your favorite creative mothers.
PS—The fastest way to grow as a writer is to book a manuscript critique or a creative coaching session with an expert.
My clients get agents, sell books, and win awards. They also learn how to find ease and joy in the creative process, so they can keep going when life gets hard.
Hope you have a lovely summer Heidi!
