Between office hours and coaching, I’ve been talking to a few writers who are totally new to the publishing process and are looking for a step-by-step guide, so they know what to expect. If you’re working on a children’s book and planning to sell it to a traditional publisher, your path is probably going to look something like this, although it will probably take way longer than you think. (The process is different if you’re self publishing. Lauren Ranalli is a great resource if you need help there.)
This is the publishing process in the broadest of strokes. Sometimes it helps just to know where you are in the process and have a sense of what lies ahead. But it’s easy to get overwhelmed when there are actually a million unpredictable moments in between these big milestones. Are you stuck at one of these stages? You can hire an editor during the revision stage, but I can help you at any stage of the process when you hire me as a coach.

Nebula Notebook is a place to meet kindred spirits, get inspired, and learn how to find ease and joy in the creative process—even when life is bananas. 🍌🍌🍌
✏️ PS—The fastest way to grow as a writer is to book a manuscript critique or a creative coaching session with an expert. My clients get agents, sell books, and win awards. They also learn how to enjoy the creative process, so they can keep going when life gets hard. 👏
Ooh I hadn’t seen the CollabStack site. What a great resource!
