Freda Narh: Publishing Your Own Books
Did you think of yourself as a creative kid? What did you do for fun?
Yes I was always a creative kid growing up. My mom bought just about every craft kit you could think of throughout my childhood and she would register for many crafting summer camps or baking/cooking classes in our small town. I remember her getting me a pottery machine and beading kits. I am so grateful fostered that creativity. Thanks Mom!
Home Economics was actually my favorite class in junior high school. Learning sewing basics, quilling, and cooking was what we learned and I enjoyed! Those were fun wholesome times growing up. And of course I loved my dolls, I still have my original American Girl Doll.
Who would you love to collaborate with? What’s a dream project for you?
Author and Illustrator Christian Robinson. My wildest dream would be to collaborate on a children’s book together. I admire his creativity so much.

What’s inspiring you outside of your own genre?
Sustainability. Ways to make the earth better. It’s something I’m very passionate about.
How can we support and encourage each other more?
We can support one another more by doing our due diligence by being intentional of supporting one another, shop small. Go out of your way to buy from that small business, tag them. Ask yourself what future and community do you want for your children? Shop small and local and women owned. Check on your community and neighbors.
What mothers inspire you? Who should I interview next?
All mothers inspire me. We’re a sisterhood if you allow it. Be there for one another and get ideas from each other, no judgement zone.

✏️ PS—The fastest way to grow as a writer is to book a manuscript critique or a creative coaching session with an expert. My clients get agents, sell books, and win awards. They also learn how to enjoy the creative process, so they can keep going when life gets hard. 👏
